P-Nats Front Office to Participate in Movember Movement to Promote Men's Health Awareness

Starting November 1st, Potomac Nationals Executives to Grow Out Mustaches as Part of "Team Nationals Mo Bros" in Interest of Raising Funds for Global Charity, Movember
October 31, 2013

Woodbridge, VA-Beginning Friday, November 1st, male members of the Potomac Nationals front office will be sprouting mustaches, or "Mos," to support Movember, an official global charity rooted in men's health awareness.

"Team Nationals Mo Bros" will grow out their mustaches during the month of November to raise funds for men's health initiatives and funded programs supported by the Movember Foundation. Meanwhile, female P-Nats staff members will serve as "Mo Sistas" in a support role to their fellow colleagues who will be sporting Mos during Movember.

P-Nats fans everywhere are asked to join Team Nationals Mo Bros by growing their own Mos in support of the cause. The P-Nats also encourage fans to register and join the team online at Movember.com while sharing the Movember movement with friends and family members, and requesting that they donate to this invaluable men's health cause.

Join Team Nationals Mo Bros to change the face of men's health and donate to the Movember Movement by using this link: http://us.movember.com/team/1225049.

"Movember is a great way for all P-Nats fans to join our front office in a fun way to support some serious issues. Along with our team, I look forward to looking ridiculous for the next month in the interest of reaching our goal," said Potomac Nationals Vice President/General Manager, Josh Olerud.

The goal of Movember is to use the catalyst of Mos to prompt conversations about men's health issues including prostate and testicular cancer along with mental health challenges. Together, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas' efforts will culminate in an everlasting positive impact on the overall health of men across the world.

A prize structure will reward P-Nats fans and friends of the team for their donation levels during Movember. All Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who donate $25 to $75 will receive four courtesy tickets to Opening Day 2014 at Pfitzner Stadium plus four food vouchers. Those who give $76 to $150 to the Movember cause will receive four Opening Day Tickets, four food vouchers, four P-Nats hats, and a ceremonial first pitch opportunity during the '14 season. The gracious folks who donate over $150 will receive a P-Nats grand prize pack including a 2014 team signed jersey, an Opening Day ticket pack with food vouchers, and a first pitch on Opening Day.

Movember's mustache growing season includes a set of official rules for the P-Nats' participants to follow including:
1. Once registered at Movember.com, each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of November with a clean shaven face
2. For the entire month of "Movember," each Mo Bro must grow and groom a mustache
3. There is to be no joining of the Mo to the side burns as that is considered a beard
4. There is to be no joining of the Mo's handlebars to the chin as that is considered a goatee
5. Each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true country gentleman

The P-Nats faithful are encouraged to track the progress of the "hairy" tale of the Nationals Mo Bros in the month of Movember on the official social media accounts of the Potomac Nationals including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition, fans may email pictures of their Mos throughout Movember to [email protected].

About Movember
As an official global charity, Movember's vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches on men's faces around the world. Through the power of the Mo, vital funds and awareness are raised to combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.

How It Works
Movember encourages men to join the movement by growing a moustache for the 30-days of November. After registering on Movember.com, these generous Mo Bros start the month clean-shaven, then grow and groom their Mo (slang for moustache), asking friends and family to donate to their efforts. With their new moustaches, these Mo Bros bring much needed awareness to men's health issues by prompting conversations wherever they go.

Movember's not just for men. Mo Sistas are an important part of Movember's success. Once registered, Mo Sistas raise funds and encourage the men in their lives to get involved. Essentially, Mo Sistas do everything that Mo Bros do, without a Mo.

At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their Movember journey by throwing their own Movember events or attending one of the official Gala Parties held around the world.

The Movember Effect
Globally, the funds raised by our Mo Bros and Mo Sistas support world-class men's health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges. These programs, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer, staying mentally healthy, living with and beyond mental illness and research to achieve our vision of an everlasting impact on the face of men's health.

Movember- A Global Movement
Since its humble beginnings in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 3 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate across 21 countries worldwide. Movember is also aware of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas supporting the campaign and men's health causes in other parts of the world, from Moscow to Rio de Janeiro, and everywhere in between.

In 2012, over 1.1 million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas around the world joined the movement, raising USD $147.0 million. In the US, over 209,000 Mo's raised $21.0 million.
