P-Nats Preliminary Promo Schedule Revealed

Woodbridge, VA-Entering the 36th season in franchise history, the Potomac Nationals have revealed a preliminary promotional schedule for the 2013 campaign that is highlighted by a record number of theme nights, and the most entertainment ever packed into 70 P-Nats' home games.

The Potomac Nationals '13 promotional lineup includes a whopping 17 fireworks shows, most ever at The Pfitz, a slew of premium giveaway items, a series of celebrity appearances, and many game used jersey auction nights.

"The P-Nats promo schedule is jam packed with unique promotions and exciting entertainment all season long, and we can't wait for April 5th to get here! There is truly something for everyone at Pfitzner Stadium in 2013," said Potomac Nationals Vice President/General Manager, Josh Olerud.

The P-Nats have confirmed the release of the most exciting line of bobbleheads in recent memory, while adding a special giveaway item that is soon to be a famous piece of memorabilia.

Former Potomac Cannons hurler, Dan Haren (St. Louis-2002), acquired by the Washington Nationals this off-season, will be immortalized with a bobblehead likeness of his days pitching in Woodbridge when he fanned 82 batters in 92.0 innings.

2010 Carolina League Most Valuable Player, OF/1B Tyler Moore, now with the Big League club, will be featured in a commemorative bobblehead that pays tribute to his monumental season with the Potomac Nationals in which he cranked 43 doubles, belted 31 home runs, and drove in 111 runs en route to the league's best honor.

Finally, the Washington Nationals outfielder that has been dubbed, "The Shark," Roger Bernadina (2006), will be memorialized in a half-man, half-shark figurine that the P-Nats front office has christened,"The Shark-A-rine."This one-of-a-kind, never before seen player figure will serve as a rendering of Bernadina's days hunting down fly balls in the outfield gaps at The Pfitz like a hungry shark chases its prey.

Season-long, fan-favorite Saturday fireworks nights will be complemented by additional fireworks extravaganzas following Sunday night games in the second half of the season beginning with the 6:05pm start on Sunday, June 23rd. Independence Day Weekend will be emphasized with three consecutive fireworks displays from Thursday, July 4th through Saturday, July 6th. Fourth of July fireworks will be presented by: Sentara.

With regards to the always popular jersey promotions, the Nationals will host a Washington Senators Throwback Jersey Night featuring an appearance by a Senators legend, and fans may place silent auction bids on these game worn collectables autographed by Potomac Nationals players and coaching staff.

Potomac players will be "Men of Steel" for one evening in 2013, when they will be adorned with Supermanthemed jerseys complete with the familiar chest plate and cape, and winners of these game used, autographed uniform tops will leave The Pfitz feeling like superheroes.

Replica batting helmets of former World Series Champion and field manager of the P-Nats, Brian Daubach, will dot the promo schedule and fans will have the opportunity to have their helmets signed by the Nationals skipper.
