Anderson Named Pitcher of the Week

JUPITER, Fla. - The Florida State League has released its players of the week, and the newest member of the Palm Beach Cardinals received one of those honors. Will Anderson, a right-handed pitcher from Pleasanton, CA, received the Pitcher of the Week honor, after pitching Saturday against the Jupiter Hammerheads. In his Florida State League debut, he pitched eight innings, allowing one run on four hits. He issued one walk and struck out five. His ERA is now 1.13. 

Prior to being promoted to Palm Beach on Friday, Anderson started the year with Peoria, the Class A affiliate for the St. Louis Cardinals. He made four appearances for Peoria, starting the last three of those games. In all three starts, he faced the Wisconsin Timber Rattles, earning a decision in each of those match ups (2 - 1). With Peoria, he pitched 19.0 innings, allowed five earned runs on 18 hits, walked two, and struck out 16.
