Palm Beach Cardinals announce 2020 coaching staff

January 7, 2020

The Palm Beach Cardinals return for the 2020 season with a familiar face at the helm as they prepare to take on the Jupiter Hammerheads on April 9th for the Florida State League season opener.

Dann Bilardello will serve as manager of the Beach Birds for the fifth season and third consecutive campaign. The California native enters his 14th season in the St. Louis Cardinals' organization after getting his coaching career started with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2002. In 2017, Bilardello led Palm Beach to a Florida State League Co-Championship season and was named FSL Manager of the Year in 2018.

A catcher during his playing days, the eight-year MLB veteran played in over 375 total games while making appearances with the Reds, Expos, Pirates, and Padres.

Pitching Coach Rick Harig joins the Palm Beach Cardinals after spending the past two seasons with Rookie-level Johnson City. Prior to joining the organization, Harig spent time coaching high school where he racked up over 1,000 career wins.

New Hitting Coach Brian Burgamy also comes from the Johnson City Cardinals where he spent the 2019 slate as hitting coach. Prior to Johnson City, Burgamy spent time with Triple-A Memphis as a coach. Originally drafted in the ninth round of the 2002 MLB draft, the Oklahoma native played for 16 seasons which included stints in the Florida State League with Clearwater in 2006 & 2007 and St. Lucie in 2008.

Both Certified Athletic Trainer Alex Wolfinger and Strength & Conditioning Coach Ross Hasegawa return to Palm Beach for the 2020 season.
