The Palm Beach Cardinals secured a season-series win over the Jupiter Hammerheads on Saturday night in front of 2,127 fans at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Dollar Night! Palm Beach moves to 13-11 on the season against their in-stadium rivals, with only Sunday's matinee remaining between the sides in 2022. In the 6-2 win, the Cardinals also clinched the six-game series after taking the initial trio of matchups.

Palm Beach moves to 51-48 overall in 2022, and 21-14 in the second half of the Florida State League season. They also maintain a two-game lead atop the FSL East second half divisional standings.

The Beach Birds leaned on production from the middle of their order on Saturday, with Thomas Francisco, Jeremy Rivas, and Jimmy Crooks all going 2-4 with a combined four RBIs. Francisco opened Palm Beach's scoring in the first with a single to tie that game at 1-1, before RJ Yeager and Jake Burns gave the Cardinals a 3-1 lead an inning later.

Francisco padded his RBI total in the fourth, before Rivas drove in a pair of runs an at bat later with a double to the left field wall to make it 6-1.

The home team relied on pitching the rest of the way, getting four and 1/3 frames and five strikeouts from starting pitcher Yonael Dominguez. Taking the win for Palm Beach was southpaw reliver Alfredo Ruiz, who struck out six in three and 2/3 innings. The Chula Vista, Cal. native did allow a run in the sixth, but was able to escape the inning with the bases loaded and the damage limited. Andrew Marrero stuck out the side in the ninth to finish the contest.

Palm Beach will close the series Sunday afternoon against Jupiter, with a 12:00 p.m. first pitch at RDCS. The Cardinals will then embark on a six-game road trip to the Gulf Coast to face the Bradenton Marauders.
