Hart Heaves Six Shutout for Series-Opening Win

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - After dropping each of their last three one-run decisions, the Pawtucket Red Sox (38-55) came out on the winning side of a one-run contest on Monday night at McCoy Stadium, taking the first game of their four-game set with the Louisville Bats (35-59) by a 2-1 final.
44 of Pawtucket's first 93 games have now been decided by 3 runs or less.
 
Pawtucket scored first thanks to a two-out, RBI single from Josh Ockimey in the second inning.
Cole Sturgeon drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to make it 2-0. Over his last 13 games, Sturgeon is .372 (16-for-43) with a double, a triple, a home run, and 8 RBI.
Tanner Houck made his Triple-A debut in the seventh inning. The 23-year-old righty pitched a scoreless seventh inning while issuing 2 walks.
For the second time as a member of the PawSox, left-hander Kyle Hart turned in a scoreless start. Hart hurled 6 shutout innings, giving up just 5 hits and 4 walks. The southpaw has gone at least 6 innings in 6 of his 7 starts at the Triple-A level.
The PawSox continue their series with the Bats tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m., which will be another Osos Polares game, which will honor the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
Radio coverage on WHJJ (920 AM and 104.7 FM) and throughout the PawSox Radio Network begins with the pre-game show at 6:35 p.m.
This 12-game homestand represents the longest scheduled homestand for the PawSox in 27 years - since a 12-game homestand in 1992 (from July 29 - August 9).
The Charlotte Knights come to town over the weekend of July 19-21 for a 3-game set highlighted by Saturday, July 20 at 6:15 pm on Alex Cora World Series Champion Bobblehead Night followed by Margaritaville post-game Fireworks.
