JULY 19th                         PAWTUCKET (45-49)   at   CHARLOTTE (44-52)      7:04 pm

Striving for a Split - The Pawtucket Red Sox hope to bookend their 4-game series in Charlotte with a victory this evening following two difficult losses the past two nights when they play the finale of this 4-game set against the Charlotte Knights (AAA-White Sox) tonight at 7:04 pm at BB&T Ballpark in uptown Charlotte. The PawSox won the opener of this closely-played series with an 8-6 come-from-behind victory on Monday (scoring 3 runs with two outs in the top of the 9th), but the Knights have won the past two games by scores of 6-5 in 11-innings on Tuesday and 3-0 last night (despite being held to 1-hit - a solo homer - over 6-innings by rehabbing PawSox starter Drew Pomeranz).
This Series and Trip - The PawSox and Charlotte have been meeting this week for the first time this season. The Knights were the last International League team the PawSox had yet to face this year. The clubs will face each other again in just over a week for a 3-game weekend set at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket next Friday - Sunday (from July 27-29). After tonight's finale in Charlotte, Pawtucket will head further south for a 3-game set in Lawrenceville, GA against the Braves this weekend with games tomorrow (Friday at 7:05 pm), Saturday at 6:05 pm, and Sunday afternoon (1:05 pm).
The Road Home - Pawtucket is off this coming Monday before beginning their next homestand at McCoy on Tuesday night against the Columbus Clippers at 7:05 pm. The 6-game homestand will feature 3-game sets against both Columbus (Tuesday - Thursday including a "youth camp day" matinee 11:05 am game on Thursday that is nearly sold-out) and then a 3-game weekend series against these Charlotte Knights next Friday (7:05 pm), Saturday (6:15 pm), and Sunday (1:35 pm). The upcoming PawSox homestand is one of only two "long" homestands the Sox have left this season…the other a 7-game homestand from August 13-19. Pawtucket also has a pair of 3-game homestands (August 3-5 and August 28-30) as well as a brief 2-game homestand to end the regular-season on September 2 & 3.
