Today's (Thursday's) scheduled International League game between the host Pawtucket Red Sox and the visiting Louisville Bats at McCoy Stadium has been postponed due to persistent rain throughout the day and evening.
Today's washout will have to be made-up as part of a doubleheader when the PawSox play at Louisville from August 15-17 (today marks Louisville's final regular-season visit to Pawtucket).
Pawtucket has already suffered 8 postponements this season (4 at home and 4 on the road). They have played four doubleheaders and now have five more on the schedule. The five make-up doubleheaders on the docket are…June 13 in Syracuse at 5:05 pm, June 17 at home vs. Rochester at 4:35 pm, July 5 in Rochester at 4:35 pm, July 28 at Indianapolis at 5:30 pm, and most likely August 15 at Louisville TBA.
Fans holding field box seats, reserved box seat tickets or general admission tickets for Thursday's game at McCoy (without a specific rainout date printed on them) can trade those in for any remaining regular-season game at McCoy based on availability.
The PawSox homestand continues tomorrow (Friday) night with the opener of a 4-game wrap-around Memorial Day weekend series vs. the 1st-place Durham Bulls of the IL South here at McCoy…tomorrow (Friday) at 6:05 pm, Saturday at 6:15 pm (fireworks to follow), and Sunday & Memorial Day Monday both at 1:35 pm.
