On Tuesday, December 19, the Narragansett Boy Scouts Council of America presented the PawSox with the "Vale La Pena Award" at the Providence Marriott Hotel. The award is given to an organization that demonstrates exemplary involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth in Rhode Island's urban areas.

Past recipients of the award include Bristol County Savings Bank, Navigant Credit Union, Sodexo, Dexter Credit Union, and Mayor James Diossa of Central Falls.
For over fifteen years, the PawSox have hosted "Scout Sleepovers" after Saturday night home games, where Boy Scouts in the area are invited to pitch tents in the outfield and watch a movie on the videoboard with their families.
