The Pawtucket Red Sox will host the inaugural "Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl Pawtucket" at McCoy Stadium this Sunday, August 19, from 1-4 p.m., when the PawSox play the Durham Bulls. Game time is 1:35 p.m. Proceeds go directly to the Jimmy Fund, which benefits adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl has been held in Boston for the past 36 years and this is the first time the event has been hosted in Rhode Island as well.
Fans can enjoy dozens of flavors from top ice cream and frozen yogurt companies including: Hood, Hershey, Dippin' Dots, Lincoln Creamery, Warwick Ice Cream, Yasso, Sundaes, Seriously Good Ice Cream and Sweetie Ice Cream.
General Admission tickets cost $10 and include access to the game as well as unlimited ice cream and frozen yogurt scoops. Fans who have already purchased tickets for the game can enjoy the event by upgrading for $5 at the ballpark. The event takes place at the ballpark in Shady Pines, the treesy area just foul of first base.
"Our passion for the Jimmy Fund is well-known," said PawSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg. "We are proud that our Chairman, Larry Lucchino, is also the Chairman of the Jimmy Fund, and we are eternally grateful to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for twice saving his life.
"We have come to know so many children and families whose affection for the Jimmy Fund is limitless, and we are proud to help present a summer afternoon of limitless ice cream. It's amazing what we can do when we combine a love of baseball, a love of ice cream, and a love of children and families."
"Scooper Bowl has been an amazing event from the start and we are looking forward to starting a new, long-term chapter with this ballclub," said Roger Lockwood, Chairman of the Lockwood/McKinnon Group and representing all Taco Bells and KFCs. "The Jimmy Fund has a special place in my heart for many reasons, and I am looking forward to seeing Scooper Bowl expand to all communities and to continue to give back to adult and pediatric cancer care and research."
Tickets for the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl Pawtucket are available at the McCoy Stadium Box Office or by calling (401) 724-7300.
