In addition to enjoying freshly-grilled dining, fans will be able to step onto the field, play catch, and enjoy conversation with the 8-time Rawlings Gold Glove winner. In addition to his stellar defense in right field for Boston from 1972-1990, "Dewey" led the American League in home runs in the 1980s. Only Carl Yastrzemski played more games for the Red Sox.
"We hope that fans enjoy an intimate, elegant evening with Dwight Evans that directly funds our PawSox Scholars program of the PawSox Foundation," said club president Dr. Charles A. Steinberg. "While enjoying a picturesque scene with a wonderful gentleman, we are helping to fund college scholarships of $10,000 each to middle schoolers from Pawtucket and Central Falls."
Photographs and autographs are permitted, and fans are encouraged to bring their gloves.
Several current PawSox players are also expected to attend.
