Cardinals Lose Regular Season Finale

Jupiter, FL - The Palm Beach Cardinals (74-60, 34-33) lost their final regular season to the St. Lucie Mets (63-75, 30-40) on Sunday Afternoon by a final of 4-3.Evan Guillory made his first FSL start of his career and gave up four runs over seven innings off of seven hits.

Jupiter, FL - The Palm Beach Cardinals (74-60, 34-33) lost their final regular season to the St. Lucie Mets (63-75, 30-40) on Sunday Afternoon by a final of 4-3.
Evan Guillory made his first FSL start of his career and gave up four runs over seven innings off of seven hits. He walked two batters and struck out seven in his Florida State League debut.
St. Lucie got on the board first in the top of the second inning. Wuilmer Becerra started the frame off with a single and scored on a Nick Sergakis triple to take the 1-0 lead.
The Cardinals came roaring back in the bottom of the third inning. Shane Billings started it off with a single. Vince Jackson followed it up with a fly out to left and Julio Rodriguez popped out in foul territory for the second out. Edmundo Sosa got the Cardinals started with a two out rally with a single of his own. Leobaldo Pina scored Billings on a double to right and Pina and Sosa both scored on a Thomas Spitz double to give the Cardinals a 4-1 lead through three innings.
The game stayed at the three run score until the top of the seventh inning when St. Lucie ripped off three runs of their own. Becerra and Sergakis started the seventh off with back-to-back doubles. Colby Woodmansee walked putting runners at first and second. Emmanuel Zabala drove both players in with a double to right to take a 4-3 lead.
Estarlin Arias tossed a scoreless eighth and Derian Gonzalez threw a perfect ninth striking out the side to keep the game at one run.
Casey Grayson hit a two out triple in the ninth, but the game ended with Rayder Ascanio striking out and keeping it a 4-3 final score.
