Palm Beach Cardinals Release 2013 Field Staff

Three New Faces To Join Manager Johnny Rodriguez in the Cardinals Dugout
February 27, 2013

Jupiter, Fla.- The Palm Beach Cardinals have announced the field staff for the upcoming 2013 season with Manager Johnny Rodriguez returning for his second season at the helm. In his first year with Palm Beach, Rodriguez led his team to a 33-36 record and a third place finish in the FSL South Division.

Rodriguez is entering his fifth season with the Cardinals organization, previously managing the River Bandits. In 2011, he led Quad Cities to their first Midwest League title since 1991, and his 2010 squad produced the second best record in the MWL (83-55).  Rodriguez spent the 2009 season as the hitting coach at Johnson City. Prior to joining the Cardinals, Rodriguez came from the Florida (currently Miami) Marlins organization, where he was hitting coach at Jamestown in 2007-08.

Arthur "Ace" Adams will be replacing Dennis Martinez as pitching coach for the upcoming season. Adams returns for his sixth season as pitching coach in the Cardinals organization, most recently spending the 2011 season with Quad Cities.  From 2010-2011, Adams coached at short-season Batavia after coming over from the Red Sox organization where he spent four years as pitching coach.

Joining Adams, Roger LaFrancois will take over as hitting coach for the 2013 season.  LaFrancois spent the previous three seasons with the Muckdogs and has over 20 years coaching experience at the minor league level.  He has coached or managed at all levels of the minor leagues with several different Major League organizations including the White Sox, Giants, Mets, Expos, and Braves.

Keith Joynt will also join the 2013 field staff taking over as athletic trainer.
