Jupiter, FL - Connor Jones got the start for the Palm Beach Cardinals (15-14) and was cruising through 3.2 innings until the Lakeland Flying Tigers put up six two-out runs that led them to a 7-2 victory.
Three straight singles led to the first run for Lakeland. Chad Sedio doubled in two more runs for the Flying Tiger to give them a 3-0 lead. Ross Kivett singled in Sedio to make it 4-0. J.D. Martinez went the opposite way for a two-run home run home run to make it 6-0. Jones handed to ball off to Steven De La Cruz who got the bleeding to stop in the fourth. De La Cruz pitched the fifth and sixth inning giving up another run in the fifth to give the Tigers the seven run lead.
Magneuris Sierra started the sixth inning with an infield single and got to second on a Jhonny Peralta single. Danny Diekroeger knocked in Sierra on a single of his own to get the Cardinals on the board and make it a 7-1 game.
The seventh saw Randy Arozarena, Leobaldo Pina and Edmundo all single to put one more on the board and get it to a 7-2 game. Juan Perez threw two scoreless innings and Dailyn Martinez tossed a scoreless inning of his own.
The Cardinals and the Tigers will play the rubber match tomorrow at 1 PM EST.
