Jupiter, FL - Randy Arozarena, Darren Seferina and Chris Chinea each record three hits to lead the Palm Beach Cardinals (21-19) to a 7-1 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads (15-26).
Derian Gonzalez started for the Cardinals and picked up his first win of the season as he tossed six innings of one run baseball. He gave up four hits, walked on batter and struck out four.
Jupiter jumped out to and early lead in the top of the first as Dustin Geiger and John Silviano hit two out doubles to lead to the first run of the game.
Palm Beach tied it in the bottom of the third inning at 1-1. Shane Billings hit a single and got to second on a ball that was dropped by the left fielder off the bat of Ricardo Baustista. Juan Herrera advanced both runners on a sacrifice bunt. Seferina hit a single to drive in Billings and tie the game.
Palm Beach took a 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth. Juan Herrera singled and scored on a Seferina triple to right field. Arozarena singled in Seferina to give the Cardinals the two run lead.
Chris Chinea led off the sixth with a double and the rain started coming down, delaying the game for an hour and fourteen minutes. When play resumed the Cardinals drove in Chinea and Leobaldo Pina to take a 5-1 lead.
The Cardinals added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to put the game out of reach. Ross Vance pitched two scoreless innings and Brennan Leitao closed out with a scoreless ninth.
