MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (June 30, 2017) - Former Myrtle Beach Pelicans outfielder Nick Williams has been promoted to the Philadelphia Phillies and will make his Major League debut Friday against the Mets at Citi Field in New York. Williams will be the 163rd former Pelican to play in The Show, including the eighth this season and the third in the last two eight days.
Ranked by MLB.com as the fourth-best prospect in the Phillies' organization, Williams is scheduled to bat sixth and play left field in Philadelphia's series opener at the Mets.

He earned a spot on both the Carolina League Mid-Season and Postseason All-Star squads, and finished second in the circuit in slugging percentage and fifth in batting average.
Williams was part of a package the Texas Rangers sent to the Phillies on July 31, 2015 in exchange for LHP Cole Hamels . Williams was promoted Friday to Philadelphia from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he was batting .280/.328/.511 with 16 doubles, two triples, 15 homers and 44 RBIs in 78 games.
