MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AUGUST25, 2015) -The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs and defending Carolina League Champions, are pleased to announce their 2017 regular season schedule. The Pelicans open their 2017 season on the road on April 6 but not before hosting the Charleston RiverDogs, New York Yankees Class A Affiliate, at TicketReturn.Com Field in the Battle of the Beaches. The Pelicans kick-off their home schedule on Thursday, April 13 against the Lynchburg Hillcats, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, in a repeat of the 2016 Mills Cup Championship where Myrtle Beach defeated Lynchburg three games to one. The opening six-game homestand also features a match-up against one of two new teams joining the Carolina League.

For a fourth consecutive year the Myrtle Beach schedule is arranged in a manner that ensures the maximum number of visitors to the Grand Strand will have the opportunity to attend a Pelicans game. There is at least one home game scheduled every calendar week between April 5 and August 27, the final home game of the season, with no longer than eight days between home games at any point.

The schedule is once again loaded with home games during the summer months with 18 in June, 14 in July and 13 in August. The schedule is great for Spring Breakers coming to Myrtle Beach with homestands April 13-19 and April 25-27.

Promotionally, fans can expect the return of popular weekly staples. The 19th year in franchise history will feature 14 Thirsty Thursdays, 11 Wiener Wednesdays, postgame fireworks, and more! While the full promotional schedule and fireworks shows will be released at a later date, shows can be expected on Opening Day as well as July 4.

The Pelicans complete their home schedule on Sunday, August 27 vs. the Carolina Mudcats and wrap up the season with a seven-game road trip concluding in Zebulon, North Carolina against the Mudcats on September 4.

The Mills Cup playoffs would begin Wednesday 6.

Game dates are subject to change and all game times are to-be-determined.
