Blue Wahoos Announce 2020 Promo Schedule

With the 2020 season fast-approaching, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos announced their preliminary 2020 promotional calendar on Friday, bringing an action-packed schedule of affordable, family fun to Blue Wahoos Stadium throughout the upcoming season full of returning fan-favorite events and exciting new theme nights.
The 2020 season at Blue Wahoos Stadium will be jam-packed with immersive promo nights combining themed food and drink specials, costumes, in-game contests and music, giveaways, and specialty jerseys to continue to provide fans with an award-winning game day experience.
The fun will kick off with Opening Night at Blue Wahoos Stadium on Thursday, April 9 against the Tennessee Smokies. Adding to the season's first series, the team will join with Marcus Pointe Baptist Church on Saturday, April 11 to host the popular Eggawahooza Easter egg hunt in Maritime Park and the annual SonRise Service will return to Blue Wahoos Stadium on the morning of April 12.
The Blue Wahoos will open their second series of the season at Blue Wahoos Stadium on Monday, April 20 against Biloxi by fighting for the rights of pasta lovers everywhere on Legalize Marinara Night. Two days later, the team will join the nation in the celebration of Earth Day with an eco-friendly night at the ballpark on Wednesday, April 22.
The Blue Wahoos kick off May with a trio of promotions on Sunday, May 3, combining Paw Patrol Night, First Responders Night, and Bark In The Park into a fun-filled night for children, families, and canine friends alike featuring the team's first specialty jersey of the season. The following night, the fan favorite Star Wars Night returns by popular demand on Monday, May 4.
Later in May, the team will celebrate all things 1990s during 90s Night on Friday, May 15 complete with a Blue Wahoos Fanny Pack giveaway thanks to Woodlands Medical Specialists.
In the month of June, the Blue Wahoos will turn back the clock twice by hosting Y2K Night on Wednesday, June 10 against Mississippi and Roaring 20s Night on Thursday, June 25 against the Montgomery Biscuits.
July will be a can't-miss month at Blue Wahoos Stadium as the team will host their first home game on the Fourth of July since 2013 with a massive Independence Day celebration featuring specialty USA-themed uniforms and a 5:05 PM first pitch time to ensure fans can enjoy post-game fireworks.
On July 8, the Blue Wahoos will pay tribute to the immeasurable contributions the stars of the Negro Leagues made to the game of baseball in Pensacola and across the nation, taking the field as the Pensacola Seagulls on Negro Leagues Night.
The Rocket City Trash Pandas will make their first ever trip to Blue Wahoos Stadium on Thursday, July 16 and the Blue Wahoos will welcome them in style on Mardi Gras Night. Two days later, Blue Wahoos Stadium will host its first ever quidditch tournament prior to a magic-filled Wizarding Wahoos Night at the ballpark on Saturday, July 18.
Following Shark Night on Wednesday, July 29 and the Usher Olympics on Thursday, August 6, the Blue Wahoos will host the Festival of Crabzilla on August 8, celebrating the behemoth Crabzilla sandwich served by Blue Wahoos Concessions, the 2019 winner of Ballpark Digest's Best New Food Item. Besides having the opportunity to fill their bellies with delicious crab, fans will have the chance to take home specialty Crabzilla uniforms worn by the team during the game.
In addition to the exciting schedule of theme nights, every game day will be a celebration at Blue Wahoos Stadium in 2020 with a full slate of daily promotions happening each week.
Every Monday will be a Money Monday at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Over the course of their 11 Monday home games in 2020, the Blue Wahoos will give away a guaranteed $11,000 to lucky fans! Each Monday, a minimum of $1,000 will be on the line, with any unclaimed money being rolled over and added to the next Monday game's pot! All fans (18+) will be eligible to participate in the contest.
Tuesdays will be Taste of Pensacola Tuesdays in 2020, adding a local flair to the team's popular Fat Tuesday promotion. For just $24, fans will receive a ticket to the Winn-Dixie Party Deck, a ballpark buffet dinner featuring samples from local Pensacola restaurants, unlimited water and soda, and an exclusive Blue Wahoos hat. Each Tuesday, the Blue Wahoos will also recognize a local team, club, group, or organization that they consider a "Pensacola Champion".
Wine and Sign Wednesdays will return in 2020, featuring half-off glasses of wine throughout the game and a pre-game player autograph session in the Bait & Tackle Shop!
The fan-favorite Thirsty Thursdays are also back in 2020! Each Thursday, draft beer will be just $2 at Blue Wahoos Stadium and a host of other specialty drinks will be discounted. The Wahoos Wobble will return at select Thirsty Thursday dates in 2020.
Each Friday, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive an exclusive giveaway item at the team's popular Giveaway Fridays.
Saturdays will once again be Fireworks Saturdays with a post-game fireworks spectacular over Pensacola Bay! The team will also host an additional five mid-week fireworks shows on select Wednesdays throughout the season.
Each Sunday at the ballpark will be Military Family Sundays. Active or retired military members will receive a discount at the box office (with valid I.D.) and military families will be honored and recognized each week. Post-game kids run the bases and family toss in the outfield will also return.
