Inclement weather suddenly struck Blue Wahoos Stadium late afternoon Friday. A cloudburst occurred during the teams' exchange in batting practice. After extensive effort by the Blue Wahoos' grounds crew, the umpires and both teams’ managers determined the field conditions were not suitable for playing.

The clay infield was worked on for nearly two hours. Both managers, umpires made several trips to areas of concern, but it could not be dried in time to begin the game.

The mutual decision was made at 8 p.m. to postpone the game.
