PENSACOLA, Fla., - For the second straight year, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos community was honored with the Esurance Home Field Advantage Award by Minor League Baseball and Esurance. The award honors the communities who best supported their hometown Minor League Baseball teams during the 2017 season.

Representing the Southern League, Pensacola had the highest percentage of attendance based on ballpark capacity. The Blue Wahoos, along with the other winning teams, will be recognized at the 2017 Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando this December.
"With us striving to improve the quality of life of Pensacola through providing the best fan experience possible, this award is special to both us and the community," said President Jonathan Griffith. "This award is not only for the Blue Wahoos, but for the amazing community we call home. It's important to us to give fans the best possible experience and to provide families with memories for life."
"This award truly celebrates baseball fans and their relentless passion for the game and their hometown teams," said Nancy Abraham, vice president, integrated marketing communications at Esurance. "We've had another great season with Minor League Baseball, while introducing millions more to our brand and modern approach to home and auto insurance. Thank you to all the fans for cheering on your teams, and a special congratulations to this year's winners."
"Throughout the 2017 season, Minor League Baseball fans came out in record numbers to support their hometown teams, demonstrating how deeply rooted our teams truly are in their respective communities," said David Wright, Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer for Minor League Baseball. "The 14 teams that are recipients of this year's Esurance Home Field Advantage Award and their fans certainly have reason to celebrate. We've had another great year of attendance in Minor League Baseball and extend a huge high-five to our fans for their continued support."
Earlier this month, the Blue Wahoos were awarded the Community Service Award by the Southern League along with the Woman of Excellence Award, Groundskeeper of the Year, Trainer of the Year and Sports Media Award.
