In the fourth, Peoria extended their lead with Thompson still on the bump for Fort Wayne. Danny Hudzina walked with one out and went to second on an error by Thompson trying to pick him off at first. Nick Plummer struck a two-out single to right field, scoring Hudzina to give Peoria a 4-0 cushion.

The righty recorded the first two outs of the inning, including his ninth strikeout of the night, before Greene Jr. homered to left field to pull the TinCaps within a run at 4-3. Suwinski singled in the next at-bat, but O'Reilly struck out Kennedy to tally 10 for the night and end the inning.
