After clinching a wild card berth Thursday night, the Peoria Chiefs have announced that 2017 Midwest League playoff tickets are on sale with the Chiefs first home game scheduled for Wednesday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m. against the Quad Cities River Bandits. The Chiefs are in the playoffs for the third straight year, marking the longest post-season stretch in franchise history.
Tickets are $7 for seating bowl tickets and individual tickets can be purchased online at www.peoriachiefs.com, by calling 1-866-MYTICKET or in person at the Dozer Park Box Office. Wednesday will be a Bang for Your Buck Wednesday with $1 hot dogs, $1 nachos, $1 sodas and $2 12-ounce domestic cans of beer. Due to Midwest League ticketing rules for the post-season, vouchers and rain checks cannot be redeemed for playoff games and season ticket holders cannot use the Never a Wasted Ticket program.

Suites are available as well with 10 tickets at $150. Groups of 15 or more in the concourse party areas are $10 per person and groups on the Suite Level party deck need a minimum of 30 at $10 per ticket. Fans can order multiple food options in each group area. For more information or to order Group Playoff tickets, call 309-680-4000.
The first two rounds are Best-of-3 series and the Chiefs will start the playoffs at home Wednesday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Davenport, Iowa for game two on Thursday, September 7 at 6:35 p.m. If game three is needed it will be in Iowa at 6:35 p.m. on Friday, September 8. Despite being in the same division for 31 of the last 35 years (exception: 1996-99), the Chiefs and River Bandits have never met in the post-season. With one game left in the season-series, the River Bandits are 9-7 against the Chiefs but Peoria is 4-1 at home.
If the Chiefs win the first round, they would open the Western Division Finals at home Saturday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m. against the winner of the Cedar Rapids/Kane County first round series. The Chiefs would play game two and if needed, game three, on the road Sunday, September 10 and Monday, September 11.
The 2017 MWL Championship Series is a Best-of-5 and opens at the home of the Eastern Division Champion so the Chiefs would be on the road for the first two games Wednesday, September 13 and Thursday, September 14. After a travel day, the Championship Series moves to the home of the Western Division Champion. That means the Chiefs potentially host MWLCS games on Saturday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. and Monday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m.
The Chiefs have made the playoffs 11 times in their 35-year history. Peoria lost in the MWL Finals in 1985 and 1986 before falling in the first round in 1996 and 1998. The Chiefs captured their only MWL Championship in 2002, going 7-1 in the playoffs with a finals win over Lansing. First round exits followed in 2004, 2006 and 2009 before the Chiefs won a playoff series in 2015 and lost in the Western Division Finals. Last year the Chiefs fell in the first round to Clinton. All-time the Chiefs are 18-22 in the playoffs with an 11-7 home record and a 7-4 mark at Dozer Park.
