Chandler Redmond Earns Player of the Week Honors

PEORIA, Ill. --- Peoria Chiefs slugger Chandler Redmond was named High-A Central Player of the Week the league announced Monday afternoon.
Redmond played five games in last week’s Beloit series and went 10-for-19 (.526) with two home runs and nine RBI’s. In game one of Saturday’s doubleheader, Redmond recorded four hits in four trips to the plate, which included a three-run blast in the fifth inning. Additionally, Redmond drove in a run in four consecutive contests, the longest stretch for any Chief in 2021.
In the field, Redmond showcased his versatility. Redmond played four different positions during the Beloit series, including three separate infield spots.
On the year, Redmond now sports a .300/.408/.550 slash line and has mashed four homers to go with 17 runs driven in, tied for the seventh-highest total in the High-A Central. His .300 batting average is ninth amongst all High-A hitters.
Redmond and the Chiefs will open up the month of June tonight at Wisconsin. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Friday’s from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The box office will be closed for lunch daily between 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tickets for July, August and September will be available at a later time.
