Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs (20-13) had their three-game win streak snapped falling 5-3 to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (11-21) Thursday night at Hadlock Field.

New Hampshire scored two quick runs in the first inning off Portland starter Josh Winckowski. The first three batters of the game reached base…Samad Taylor walked, Austin Martin singled and Otto Lopez doubled scoring Taylor and Martin.

Tate Matheny led the game off with a triple for the Sea Dogs and scored on a Triston Casas ground out.

After the first inning, Winckowski held the Fisher Cats scoreless. He tossed 5 2/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits and striking out five.

With the Fisher Cats up 2-1 in the sixth inning, Joey Meneses singled to left field with the bases loaded plating two runs to give the Sea Dogs a 3-2 lead.

The lead would be short-lived as the Fisher Cats responded with two runs of their own in the top of the seventh to take a 4-3 lead. Reggie Pruitt and Taylor both produced RBI singles for the Fisher Cats.

Troy Miller (1-1) earned the win holding the Sea Dogs to three runs on four hits.

Brody Rodning pitched a perfect ninth for the Fisher Cats to earn the save.

The series continues Friday night at 6:00 PM as righty Denyi Reyes (2-1, 3.63) takes the mound for the Sea Dogs against Fisher Cats lefty Zach Logue (3-1, 3.41).
