'Dogs scratched by the 'Cats, 10-8 on Saturday

Manchester, NH - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (6-13, 37-49) erased an eight-run deficit with seven runs in the seventh inning to beat the Portland Sea Dogs (9-9, 36-49), 10-8 on Saturday night at Delta Dental Stadium.

LHP Danny Young (1-1) worked 1.1 innings to earn the win. RHP Tanner Houck (8-6) made his professional debut as a reliever and took the loss. Houck yielded six runs on three hits over 1/3 of an inning.
Portland grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out, two-run double by Joey Curletta. LHP Daniel McGrath fired five strong innings for the 'Dogs, yielding one unearned run and fanned six. McGrath had his scoreless streak snapped at 23 innings, the fourth-longest streak in team history.
Jerry Downs led off the fifth inning with a solo-homer (#2), his second homer in as many days to put Portland in front 3-1. The 'Dogs scored three times in the sixth inning against Vinny Nittoli. Brett Netzer (2-for-4) nailed a run-scoring single and Downs supplied a two-run double.
The Fisher Cats responded in their half of the sixth inning on a two-out, two-run single by Alberto Mineo. In the seventh, Bobby Dalbec and Netzer provided RBI singles.
Houck fanned the first batter in the seventh but ran into trouble on a single, fielder's choice, and back-to-back walks. Nash Knight closed the game to 8-6 with a two-run double, Josh Palacios tied the game with a two-run single, knocking Houck out of the game. Matthew Gorst allowed the game-winning hit, a two-run homer to Chad Spanberger.
Portland received a hit from everyone in the lineup, including two doubles from Jeremy Rivera. All-Star catcher Jhon Nunez went 2-for-5 with a run scored, and Durbin Feltman hurled a perfect eighth.
Portland and New Hampshire conclude their four-game series on Sunday afternoon with a 1:35 PM start from Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. RHP Bryan Mata makes the start for Portland against RHP Yennsy Diaz. Radio coverage on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network begins at 1:20 PM.
