Portland, Maine- Deiner Lopez homered and Matt Kent worked eight innings in a strong start, but New Hampshire (Toronto) edged the Portland Sea Dogs 3-1 on Sunday to earn a split of the four-game series at Hadlock Field.

Portland, Maine- Deiner Lopez homered and Matt Kent worked eight innings in a strong start, but New Hampshire (Toronto) edged the Portland Sea Dogs 3-1 on Sunday to earn a split of the four-game series at Hadlock Field.

Kent (L, 5-7) allowed three runs (two earned), walking two and striking out three. New Hampshire starter Jon Harris (W, 7-3), was also sharp. He allowed only three hits, retiring the final 16 batters he faced in winning his sixth consecutive decision. He worked out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the first inning without allowing a run before Deiner Lopez homered in the second to give Portland a 1-0 lead.
New Hampshire tied the game on a delayed double steal in the top of the fifth inning. Andrew Guillotte doubled, moved to third when Gunnar Heidt reached on an error. Guillotte stole home to tie the game. The Fisher Cats moved in front in the next frame when Eduard Pinto, who reached on a bunt single, scored on a triple by Cavan Biggio.
New Hampshire scored in a third consecutive inning in the top of the seventh. Guillotte singled and Gunnar Heidt ripped an RBI double.  
Danny Young (S, 2) worked the final two innings for his second save.  
Jeremy Rivera had two of Portland's four hits, finishing the series with three multi-hit games.
