Olt 3 RBI in 'Dogs 8-5 loss at Hartford

Hartford, Conn - The Hartford Yard Goats (61-73) scored their eight runs over two innings and defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (62-72), 8-5, Tuesday night at Dunkin Donuts Park. With the win, the Yard Goats clinched the season-series from Portland. The 'Dogs have lost 10 straight on the road.

Hartford, Conn - The Hartford Yard Goats (61-73) scored their eight runs over two innings and defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (62-72), 8-5, Tuesday night at Dunkin Donuts Park. With the win, the Yard Goats clinched the season-series from Portland. The 'Dogs have lost 10 straight on the road.

Red Sox reliever and former Sea Dogs Matt Barnes made the start for Portland on a Major League Rehab Assignment. Barnes worked a scoreless first on one hit, one walk and one strikeout.
Hartford righty Craig Schlittter (1-3) earned his first Double-A win, beating his former teammate at Bryant University, Kevin McAvoy (6-8). 
Both teams scored three times in the fourth inning. Josh Ockimey and Mike Olt delivered back-to-back sacrifice flies and Cole Sturgeon nailed a two-out RBI double. In the Goats half of the fourth, they sent eight to the plate against McAvoy. Juan Ciriaco (3-for-4) tied the game with a run-scoring single.
Ciriaco blasted his first homer of the season in the fifth, a two-run shot off Elih Villanueva, highlighting a five-run inning for Hartford. Portland scored twice in the sixth on a two-run homer (#16) by Mike Olt. Olt's homer was Portland's final hit of the game. The Yard Goats bullpen of Johenian Jiminian, D.J. Johnson and Shane Broyles combined for 3.1 hitless innings. Broyles earned his 20th save of the year.
McAvoy took the loss, allowing six runs on six hits over 3.1 innings pitched. 
Portland and Hartford resume their four-game series on Wednesday night at Dunkin Donuts Park. RHP Teddy Stankiewicz (5-5, 4.73) makes the start against RHP Konner Wade (8-7, 4.44). First pitch from the Nutmeg State is 7:05 PM.
