Portland, Maine- The Sea Dogs (61-69) and Binghamton Rumble Ponies (77-53) split a doubleheader on Friday night at Hadlock Field. Portland took game one while Binghamton was victorious in game two - both games were decided by a score of 2-1.

Game 1 Recap
 
The Sea Dogs scored all the runs they needed in the first four batters of the bottom of the first inning in game one.
 
Danny Mars led off the inning with a triple off of Mickey Jannis (7-7), then scored on an RBI double by Chad De La Guerra. After a Michael Chavis groundout advanced De La Guerra to third, Jeremy Barfield pushed an RBI single up the middle to give Portland the 2-0 lead.
 
Jannis would not allow another baserunner after that, he finished the game retiring the final 17 batters he faced in a complete game loss.
 
Teddy Stankiewicz (5-5) earned the victory with his team-leading 12th quality start. Stankiewicz allowed one run on five hits over 6.1 innings.
 
Ty Buttrey entered in relief with two runners on and one out in the top of the seventh and retired both batters he faced to earn his fourth save.
 
Game 2 Recap
 
David Thompson hit a sac fly to score Luis Guillorme in the top of the seventh and give Binghamton a 2-1 win in game two.
 
After Jacob Dahlstrand (5-4) walked Guillorme to begin the inning, Kevin Kaczmarski bunted him to second base on a sacrifice, then Guillorme advanced to third on a wild pitch before scoring on the sac fly.
 
Portland had tied the game 1-1 in the sixth on an RBI single by Josh Tobias to score Danny Mars, who had walked.
 
Binghamton used four pitchers in the victory, PJ Conlon started and worked three scoreless, Drew Smith went a scoreless frame in relief, Adonis Uceta allowed the lone run in two innings, and Tyler Bashlor (S, 2) struck out back-to-back hitters to end the ballgame after allowing a leadoff double to Mike Olt.
 
Elih Villanueva allowed just one run over 5+ innings in the start for Portland, walking one and fanning three.
 
Portland and Binghamton continue their series tomorrow evening at Hadlock Field, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM. RHP Matt Harvey is scheduled to start for Binghamton on a Major League Rehab Appearance for the New York Mets, LHP Dedgar Jimenez (4-0, 2.34) will make the start for Portland. Pregame coverage begins on the WPEI US Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network at 5:45 PM.
