Addison Russell Named to Futures Game

STOCKTON, Calif.-Ports shortstop Addison Russell has been named the
to the 15th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game that takes place at 11 a.m.
PT on All-Star Sunday at Citi Field in New York.


Russell ranks as the top prospect in the Oakland Athletics farm system
according to MLB.com & Baseball America.
Entering play on June 26th, Russell has a .259 batting average with a team high
7 triples and 10 stolen bases.
The Pensacola, Florida native has put together an impressive start to the
second half of the season posting a .370 batting average with 3 home runs and
14 RBI in the month of June.


Russell, 19, is one of the youngest players in the California League and is the
first current Port to be selected to the Futures Game since Grant Green in 2010.
Former Port Michael Choice was selected to play in Futures Game in 2012
while with the Double-A Midland Rockhounds.


The Ports return home on Thursday, July 4th to face the Modesto Nuts for a
