Woodbridge, VA- The Potomac Nationals are excited to host a Sandlot 25th Anniversary Night at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium on Saturday, August 4th. The night will feature a Chauncey Leopardi Bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,250 fans, presented by Northwest Federal Credit Union. It will be the second game of a three-game series against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs).
Leopardi, who played Michael 'Squints' Palledorous in The Sandlot, will make an appearance at the ballpark as part of the 2018 Legends Autograph Series, presented by Northwest Federal Credit Union. Along with his bobblehead giveaway, Leopardi will sign autographs for fans on a first-come, first-served basis. The Autograph line will begin as soon as gates open at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium (5:00pm).

The Chauncey Leopardi Bobblehead will depict the actor who played Squints in The Sandlot. The first 1,250 fans in attendance can take home Saturday's bobblehead!
All night long, the Potomac Nationals will celebrate the legendary baseball movie, The Sandlot, at Northwest Federal Field, with plenty of opportunities for fans to win prizes!
Fans who come dressed as a lifeguard or who can prove they are a lifeguard can purchase a discounted grandstand ticket for $5, while if fans show up as a group of nine, they will receive a food voucher for a free hot dog.
Additionally, the first fan who shows up to the ballpark wearing glasses will be able to sit in the first row of the reserved section in the designated "Squints Seat."
For Saturday night only, mastiffs are welcome into the ballpark! They can participate in the Beast in Show competition.
If a P-Nats player hits a homerun during the game, a lucky fan will be selected to head into Beast's Backyard behind the outfield wall to search for the ball.
Fans can bring a homemade contraption to Northwest Federal Field to try to retrieve a baseball in a specified area in the stadium, much like the attempts to retrieve the Babe Ruth ball in The Sandlot. If a fan's creation works, that fan will take home a team signed bat.
Other in-game events will include a s'mores eating contest, Big League Chew toss into the stands, and a search for the best Squints look-a-like.
Fans can stop by the Babe Ruth baseball forgery station and try their hand at their best Babe Ruth signature. The winning ball will be announced during the game.
There will be an oil and lotion giveaway, giveaways of DVDs of the movie, and a free-to-enter Chauncey Leopardi autographed item raffle. Plus, don't forget to stop by the kissing booth!
On the field, Potomac Nationals players and coaches will wear The Sandlot 25th Anniversary Night jerseys, presented by Northwest Federal Credit Union. The P-Nats players and coaches will wear Sandlot themed jerseys during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. The auction for the jerseys will begin once gates open at Northwest Federal Field for game one of the doubleheader and will last through the final out of the fourth inning in the second game of the doubleheader. All winners of the jersey auction will be able to take a photo after the game with the player or coach who wore the jersey during the game. All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Saturday, August 4th will also be another Scout Night at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium. Local area scouts can come out to the ballpark to watch the game and then camp out on the field after the game. Scouts can also take part in a pre-game on-field parade, watch The Sandlot during the campout, a receive a commemorative scout patch for their night at the ballpark!
On their way into the stadium, fans can enjoy a pre-game band performance by The Walkaways, who will play in the Café Area.
After the conclusion of Saturday night's game, fans can watch the best fireworks show in the area, presented by WTOP.
Following the fireworks, kids can participate in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Glory Days Grill.
First pitch between the P-Nats and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans is at 5:30pm. Gates to the ballpark will open at 5:00pm.
