(Charleston, WV - August 6, 2017)- The West Virginia Power completed a four-game sweep of the Delmarva Shorebirds with a 6-2 final on Sunday. Eduardo Vera pitched a quality start to earn his fifth win.

Power starter Vera and Shorebirds starter Zach Muckenhirn traded zeroes through the first four innings. Vera allowed just one run across on three hits. A solo shot in the fifth from Milton Ramos was his first home run since 2015. Vera went seven innings and struck out seven. The 1-0 Delmarva lead didn't last long.

West Virginia responded in their half of the fifth. Victor Fernandez tripled home a pair of runs to quickly give the Power a lead. Fernandez would follow home after Adrian Valerio doubled him in. West Virginia knocked Muckenhirn out of the game in the sixth inning. Arden Pabst led off the frame with a home run and Clark Eagan lifted a two-run shot two batters later. Muckenhirn did not record an out in the frame and left with a 6-1 deficit.

Angel German made his South Atlantic League debut. He was recently acquired in the Tony Watson trade between the Dodgers and Pirates. German loaded the bases, walked home a run, but struck out a pair to get out of a bases loaded jam.

The Power held on for their ninth straight home victory and fifth win in a row overall. Vera (5-5) earned the victory and Muckenhirn (4-9) finished with the loss. Julio Eusebio recorded the final three outs. West Virginia swept Delmarva in four games.

The homestand continues as West Virginia welcomes in the Lakewood BlueClaws for a Family Buck Night on Monday. Tickets and information are available online or by calling (304) 344-BATS.
