The Rays sent a team-record 16 batters to the plate in the fourth inning, scoring 12 runs on seven hits, four walks, two hit batsmen, and one Royals error. Ten of the 12 runs in the frame were notched with two outs.

The offensive barrage began as center fielder Emilio Gustave was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score the Rays first run. The scoring continued on a RBI-groundout by shortstop Adrian Rondon. Later in the frame, a single by catcher Rafelin Lorenzo scored two and a double by right fielder Eleardo Cabrera in his second at-bat of the inning cleared the bases, which had again been full with Rays. In all, Davis led the team with three hits on the night while Cabrera and Rojas added two apiece. Both Cabrera and Rondon also notched three RBI in the victory.
