Burlington Shuts Out Pulaski 7-0

August 27, 2016

The final homestand of the season started with a 7-0 loss as the Royals shut down the Yankees Saturday night in front of a crowd of 2,748. Yankees' starter Abel Duarte was tagged with the loss pitching for four innings allowing six runs on eight hits while striking out one. Royals' starter Geoffrey Bramblett picks up the win pitching for five innings allowing no runs on two hits while striking out two and walking one. Both teams will return to Calfee Park Sunday night with the game slated to begin at 5 p.m. with gates opening at 3:30 p.m.

It was all Burlington as the Royals started the scoring spree in the first. Nicky Lopez opened the game with a triple deep to right field before a double by Chris Devito scored Lopez. Burlington plated four in the third to go up 5-0 before adding a run in both the fourth and the ninth to take a commanding 7-0 lead. However, the Yankees' offense couldn't come alive as Pulaski was held to just four hits on the night en route to the loss.
