Calfee Park to Host Chamber Luncheon

June 7, 2016

The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon at Calfee Park on Wednesday June 22nd at noon. The Chamber of Commerce has held this long standing tradition for the area for over sixteen years, giving members of the community the opportunity to meet with the players and coaches before the season begins. Peggy White, executive director of the Chamber said about the event, "We are a baseball community and there is nothing better than having the opportunity to meet the team and welcome the Yankees back 'Pulaski style' at the luncheon." The event, which is open to the public, will allow area residents the opportunity to gain insight as to what will be happening within the Yankees organization this summer.

With players reporting to Pulaski June 20th, the luncheon will be the first opportunity to see this year's team. The Major League draft will take place June 9th through the 11th, with the Yankees taking the 18th pick in the first round. Players assigned to Pulaski will arrive in town a week and a half later, just in time for the welcome luncheon. Members of the local media will be present to interview and welcome the players to their new home.

Blair Hoke, general manager of the Pulaski Yankees, said about the event, "Calfee Park is excited to host the annual Pulaski Chamber Luncheon. This is a great opportunity for community members, local businesses, and the Yankees alike to come together for a wonderful kick start to the season." The event will be sponsored by the Town of Pulaski. Reservations are required in order to attend the luncheon and can be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce for $15 at www.pulaskichamber.info.
