2013 Roster Announced!

April 1, 2013

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The 2013 roster has officially been unveiled, as your Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are just a few days from taking the field for the first time in the regular season.

Of the 25 active players on the roster, 13 are former Quakes, although only 11 played for Rancho last season.

Returning to the Quakes is former Cal League All-Star Angelo Songco, who starred for the Quakes in 2011, then returned to Rancho for a brief stint in 2012 while recovering from a leg injury.

He'll be joined by returning infielder Scott Wingo and infielder Ryan Mount, who was a Quake back in 2008, now joining the Dodgers' organization after spending the last eight seasons with the Angels.

The two catchers on the Quakes' roster will be familiar for fans, as both Chris O'Brien and Pratt Maynard will begin the year in Rancho.

Outfielders Jonathan Garcia, Noel Cuevas and Casio Grider are all returning Quakes as well, although Grider will open the year on the disabled list.

The pitching staff will see six former Quakes return to Rancho, with prospect Garrett Gould and lefty Jarret Martin set to pitch in the rotation.  Third-year Quake JonMichael Redding leads the bullpen and will be joined by returners Michael Thomas, Craig Stem and Pedro Baez, who begins his first year on the hill, after spending the first six years of his career in the Dodger system as an infielder.

The rest of the rotation will be filled out by right-handers Duke Von Schamann, Gustavo Gomez and Ross Stripling, who's the tenth-ranked prospect in the Dodger system, by Baseball America.

Other members of the bullpen include right-handers James Campbell, Raydel Sanchez and Matthew Shelton.  Dan Coulombe joins Thomas as one of two left-handed options out of the pen.

More first-year Quakes include infielders O'Koyea Dickson, Elevys Gonzalez, Darnell Sweeney, as well as outfielders Rob Garvey and Scott Schebler.

Manager Carlos Subero's club will be ready on Thursday night, as the Quakes host their division-rivals, the Lake Elsinore Storm, at The Epicenter at 7:05pm.

Great seats are still available for Opening Night, as the Quakes open the 2013 regular season on Thursday, April 4th.  Opening Night will be highlighted by a fantastic Fireworks Show, sponsored by Boston's.  Fans will also take home 2013 Magnet Schedules thanks to Allstar KIA and enjoy Thirsty Thursday, with $2 domestic 16-oz drafts and 24-oz Pepsi Products.
