Rancho Cucamonga, CA -  The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes took out their frustration on the Lancaster JetHawks on Thursday night, snapping a nine-game losing streak with a 12-6 thrashing at LoanMart Field.

Darnell Sweeney drove in four runs and starting pitcher Carlos Frias (1-1) dominated over six innings for his first win of the year.

The Quakes struck early against Lancaster starter Brady Rodgers (5-5), taking a 2-0 lead after just two innings. Sweeney popped a one-out homer in the third, his ninth of the season, giving the Quakes a 3-0 lead. Rancho added another, as Jonathan Garcia scored on a Chris Jacobs' sac fly, making it 4-0.

Lancaster got to Frias for an unearned run in the fourth, but the Quakes countered with two in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by a Sweeney RBI double, making it 6-1.

The JetHawks tallied a run in the sixth, but Rancho put it away, piling on six runs in the bottom of the inning to take a convincing 12-2 advantage. Sweeney, Scott Schebler and Jacobs all had two-run hits to fuel the six-run frame.

The JetHawks scored the game's final four runs, but saw their eight-game winning streak over Rancho in the head-to-head series come to an end.

Scott Van Slyke looked good at the plate for the Quakes on Thursday night, as he finished his second game of his current rehab assignment at 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored.

Rancho will look for a second straight win on Friday night, sending Gustavo Gomez (1-4) to the mound against Lancaster's David Rollins (7-4), with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm.

Friday is another Family RV $1 Family Feast Night, as hot dogs, Pepsi products and ice cream sandwiches are all just one dollar throughout the night. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you very soon at LoanMart Field. Go Quakes!
