Rancho Cucamonga, CA - For the third time in five seasons, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes have been voted as the California League's Organization of the Year. The post-season award, voted upon by all eight California League teams, is the first of two this year for the Quakes, as Monica Ortega has been named the winner of the California League Woman of Excellence Award and will be the league's representative for the Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year, presented at the Winter Meetings in December.

The Quakes just completed a historic 25th season in the Rancho Cucamonga community.

"It's an honor to be named the Organization of the Year," said Vice President - General Manager Grant Riddle. After celebrating our 25th season in the community this past season, we've all had a great chance to reflect on all of the terrific memories and relationships in our 25-year history and are very proud. This award is a tip of the cap to all of our great fans, partners, the city of Rancho Cucamonga and staff that we've had, not just in 2017, but over our history."

The yearly award honors a "complete" baseball franchise that has demonstrated franchise stability and significant contributions to its community, league and the baseball industry.

By winning the award, the Quakes will now be the California League nomination at this year's Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando, where one minor league team will be named the John H. Johnson President's Award winner, honoring the top organization in all of minor league baseball.

Ortega joined the Quakes after the 2009 season and just completed her eighth season as Vice President - Ticket Sales. "It's an honor to be recognized, but this award is simply a reflection of the hard work of our entire staff from this past season," said Ortega. "The 25th season of Quakes baseball was full of memories and this is a nice way to cap the year!"
