Allied Services' Ballpark Carnival Set for Saturday, July 26

Event Will Run from 11 a.m. -2 p.m. at PNC Field
July 23, 2014

Moosic, Pa. - The cause was already good enough, and the event the previous years had been a success. After all, nothing tops a feel-good story like raising money for children in need. But this year the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) have made an already memorable event that much better. When the RailRiders return home from their eight-game road trip they will partner with Allied Services to host their annual Allied Services fundraiser, this year a carnival-style event filled with autographs and games at PNC Field on Saturday, July 26. All proceeds raised from the day will directly benefit Allied's pediatric program, which helps children with a variety of physical and developmental challenges achieve both short and long-term rehabilitation goals.

The ballpark carnival will run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and patrons will have the opportunity to participate in a carnival-style event where they can purchase individual tickets for the price of a dollar upon entry to the ballpark. Cost of each game will range from a single ticket to five dollars. Among the games available for play: batting practice on the field just like the pros, stadium tours and entrance into the Fun Zone at PNC Field.

Fans looking to snag the autograph of a favorite RailRider can purchase a ticket and meet their favorite SWB player down in the home dugout for each individual autograph session. For five dollars, fans will have access to the autograph signings to each of one the individual sessions throughout the day, featuring various RailRiders during the event. SWB players will make their way down to the home dugout in various groups, offering each fan the opportunity to have that special piece of memorabilia signed.

The items available for raffle include: game-worn jerseys; autographed baseball; and memorabilia from the RailRiders and other minor league baseball clubs across the country. Looking for that special getaway or a romantic night out? The raffle also sports weekend getaways and restaurant gift certificates.

Following the event the RailRiders will play host to the Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox) at 7:05 p.m. It will be Military Appreciation Night at PNC Field, as soldiers in uniform or with a military ID will receive a free ticket to the NEPA Honda Homer Zone. Saturday is also a giveaway day at PNC Field with a limited-edition camouflage travel mug for the first 2,500 fans thanks to the U.S. Army.
