RailRiders & Bold Gold Announce Five-Year Radio Deal

NEPA's Largest Sports Network Expands, Two New Signals
January 14, 2013
MOOSIC, Pa. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced a five-year agreement with Bold Gold Media Group to continue as the radio broadcast home of all RailRiders games through the 2017 season on "THE GAME" - the largest sports radio network in northeastern Pennsylvania.

"We are very excited to continue and improve upon our longstanding relationship with Bold Gold Media," said RailRiders president and general manager Rob Crain. "Our fans will be treated to not only the best ballpark and game-day experience in minor league baseball, but also one of the truly elite radio networks in the game as well."

Bold Gold Media Group will air all 144 regular-season games, all post-season games, the Triple-A All-Star game and the Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game on the multi-station network. Fans can catch 'The GAME' on five different frequencies throughout Northeast PA: 100.7 FM (Wilkes-Barre & surrounding areas), 1340 WYCK-AM (Luzerne County), 1400 WICK-AM (Lackawanna County), 1440 WCDL-AM (Lackawanna County & Pocono Lake Region), and 106.7 FM in the Pocono Lake Region (Wayne & Pike Counties). 100.7 FM in Wilkes-Barre and 106.7 FM in the Pocono Lake Region mark two new recent additions to The GAME, expanding both the reach and the dial positions of the radio network in advance of the 2013 season.

In addition to the over-the-air broadcast, all games will be streamed live over the Internet with links available through swbrailriders.com and boldgoldradionepa.com. The games will also be streamed through Bold Gold's new, state-of-the-art RadioBOLD Mobile App, available for free in the Apple and GooglePlay Marketplace and at RadioBOLD.com.

Each broadcast will include 30-minute pre and post-game shows. Bold Gold will also air a special 60-second RailRiders Report each weekday morning at 8:20 a.m. during the baseball season. The network stations that will air the RailRiders Report include 105 The River (104.9 FM WWRR), 94.3 FM The Talker (94.3 FM WTRW), Classic Hits 105.3 (105.3 WYCY), and 95.3 DNH (95.3 FM WDNH).

"All of us at Bold Gold are super excited to continue to grow and expand our partnership with the RailRiders," said Bold Gold Media Group's president and CEO Vince Benedetto. "Great sports radio is what our GAME radio network is all about and the excitement surrounding the team is going to bring huge energy to the airwaves of northeast PA."

The broadcast team will consist of RailRiders director of media relations/broadcasting John Sadak and one of the team's most recent hires, media relations/broadcasting assistant Andrew Kappes.

The RailRiders' 2013 season gets underway with the grand opening of a reconstructed PNC Field on April 4 when the defending IL champion Pawtucket Red Sox come to town for a rematch of their 2012 playoff clash with SWB. It will mark the first "Thirsty Thursday" promotion of the year with $1 beer specials and $1 Pepsi products along with a pre-game live band performance and post-game fireworks. Club seating, partial and full-season ticket plans are now available.
