LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (April 16, 2018) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders lost 6-1 to the Gwinnett Stripers on Monday. The Stripers took a lead in the first and added three runs late to take game one of the set.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (April 16, 2018) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders lost 6-1 to the Gwinnett Stripers on Monday. The Stripers took a lead in the first and added three runs late to take game one of the set.

Jaff Decker hit a solo home run off RailRiders starter Chance Adams in the bottom of the first for the early edge. Gwinnett added a pair off Adams in the home half of the third on two walks and three singles.
Trailing 3-0 in the top of the fifth, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre broke up the shutout. Billy Fleming singled and scored on a single by Abiatal Avelino; his eighth run batted in on this road trip.
The RailRiders left one on in the seventh and two more in the ninth.
Adams (0-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hit s over four and a third with four walks and four strikeouts. Kolby Allard (1-0) held Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to one run on four hits over five and two-thirds with five strikeouts and two walks.
Kyle Higashioka doubled in the first to extend his hitting streak to a team-best eight straight. Fleming finished with two of the RailRiders five hits.
