RailRiders Return to PNC Field to Host Archrival

IronRail Series Continues as Playoff Race Heats Up
July 31, 2013

Moosic, Pa. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are making an International League playoff push, and fans are running out of time to come out and cheer on the RailRiders at PNC Field. SWB will open its August schedule on Saturday, Aug. 3, as they'll welcome in division rival Lehigh Valley (Philadelphia Phillies) to renew the IronRail series.

The action begins on Saturday, August 3, and fans will want to get to the ballpark early. The first 2,500 guests through the gates at PNC Field will receive a free RailRiders aluminum water bottle. After strolling through the gates, fans won't have to venture far for fun. Over and Out will be playing a pre-game concert, and welcoming guests to the plaza before they make their way to the concourse. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., as the RailRiders will look to gain an advantage in the IronRail series, as both teams enter Saturday's contest with three wins. The game will also be broadcast live on MyNetwork TV, with John Sadak and Bob Ide on the call.

Afternoon baseball is on tap on Sunday, August 4, as gates will open up at Noon for a 1:05 p.m. first pitch. NEPA Honda presents another Family FUNday, and kids and adults alike will have fun with games, face painters, and a carnival like atmosphere as they walk into PNC Field through the plaza. Shortly after gates open, fans can get autographs along the third base concourse. The communities of Dunmore and Green Ridge will be celebrated all day long at the ballpark. After the RailRiders and IronPigs settle their differences on the field, kids can run the bases just like their favorite SWB players.

With no upper deck at PNC Field anymore, every seat in the ballpark provides the supreme views and intimacy that make minor league baseball so special at incredibly affordable prices. For more information, please visit the team's official website, www.swbrailriders.com, call 570-969-BALL (2255) or come on out to the PNC Field box office which is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday on non-game days.
