Rain Postpones Homestand Opener
Moosic, Pa. - Rain, rain go away. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) saw their homestand opener on Friday night suffer the identical fate of the prior homestand's finale. It was postponed due to weather. The team's fifth weather-related postponement on the young year (second at home) means a 5:35 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday between the RailRiders and the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington Nationals).
Right-hander Chien-Ming Wang (NR) will start game one for the RailRiders against fellow righty Yunesky Maya (0-1, 5.25). Righty-hander Brett Marshall (0-1, 11.25) goes for SWB in the nightcap. He will face right-hander Ryan Perry (0-0, 6.30) of the Chiefs.
Pregame coverage will get underway at 5:05 p.m. on NEPA Sports Radio - The GAME, Northeast PA's largest sports radio network: 100.7 FM, 1340 WYCK-AM, 1400 WICK-AM, 1440 WCDL-AM and 106.7. When the gates open at 4:30 p.m. the first 2,500 fans through them will receive a special RailRiders welcome mat. The welcome mat is shaped like home plate, giving fans the opportunity to score a run every time they step inside. A live band will play in the entrance plaza at PNC Field between games.
