OFF THE RAILS:
The RailRiders have won six straight games both overall and on the road. The IL's first team to 75 victories at 75-41, SWB owns the circuit's best road record at 38-21. The Wednesday win tied the team's best road winning streak of the season, a six-gamer first composed from July 2-16. That spurt saw a pair of wins at Pawtucket (July 2-3) and a four-game sweep of the Bisons at Buffalo (July 13-16) out of the All-Star break.
SWB surged to a league-best 21-8 in one-run games and posted its league-high seventh win of the year when trailing after seven innings.
Gwinnett went 1-for-7 with men in scoring position and went 2-for-18 with men in prime real estate on the series.
The RailRiders need to go 17-8 over their final 25 games to break the franchise's single-season wins record of 91 set by the 2002 Red Barons and tied by the 2016 RailRiders. If this year's club reaches 91 victories to tie the win mark, it would break the single-season franchise record for winning percentage set by last year's team (91-52, .636).
Tyler Austin finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in his sixth game with SWB on Major League rehab. He has gone 5-for-19 (.263) during that time.
Cito Culver went 2-for-4.
All 16 hits in the game were singles: SWB (9), GWI (7).
