TACOMA, Wash. -- An early four-run rally steered the Tacoma Rainiers to a 4-3 win over the Fresno Grizzlies in front of a sold-out crowd of 7,110 at Cheney Stadium on Friday night.

Tacoma trailed 1-0 through the game's first frame before posting four runs on four hits in the second. Ty Kelly led off the inning with a double, and then scored the tying run on another double hit by Humberto Quintero one out later. James Jones' RBI single eventually plated Quintero for the go-ahead run, and Stefen Romero stretched the lead to 4-1 after hitting a two-run double with two outs.

The second baseman Kelly led a Rainiers lineup that combined to collect a total of seven hits after going 3-for-3 including his double in the second. The outfielder Romero ended the night 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI and is now batting .320 (8x25) with six RBI in six games since being optioned from Seattle in August 1.

Forrest Snow (2-2) collected the win after limiting Fresno to two runs on five hits in 6.0 innings. The right-hander struck out eight and walked two in his sixth start and 12th appearance with the Rainiers this season. Reliever Todd Coffey collected his seventh save of the season following a scoreless inning of work in the ninth.

The Rainiers (61-59) host the third game of a five-game series with the Grizzlies (58-62) at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow, August 9. Left-hander James Gillheeney (3-9, 5.99) is scheduled to start for Tacoma in the contest. Fresno will start left-hander Mike Kickham (7-7, 3.67).
