SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - A four-run, two-out rally in the top of the seventh inning lifted the Tacoma Rainiers (30-19) to a 9-7 victory over the Salt Lake Bees (27-24) on Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark.
The Rainiers offense tallied 15 hits and nine runs for a breakout offensive night at the plate. Every member of the Tacoma lineup recorded a hit, led by multi-hit performances from first baseman Daniel Vogelbach (2x3, 2 R, 2 BB), left fielder Tyler O'Neill (2x5, R, 2B, RBI), third baseman Danny Muno (2x4, 2 R, 2B, BB), designated hitter D.J. Peterson (2x5, R, 3B, 3 RBI), second baseman Zach Shank (2x5, R, 3B, 2 RBI), and catcher Steven Baron (2x4, RBI, BB).

Trailing by two runs entering the top of the seventh inning, Tacoma hammered out five hits that fueled a four-run rally and gave the Rainiers an 8-6 lead over the Bees.
All four runs came across after Salt Lake had recorded the first two outs of the inning. Peterson kicked off a string of four consecutive RBI base hits with an RBI single and was followed by a run-scoring double from right fielder Andrew Aplin and an RBI triple from Shank that gave Tacoma the lead. Steven Baron capped the rally with an RBI single.
Both clubs tallied one run in the next two half innings, with O'Neill's RBI double in the top of the eighth scoring the last run of the night to create the final margin of 9-7.
Tacoma starting pitcher Tyler Cloyd worked 3.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out four. The three runs allowed by Cloyd were the first allowed by the righty since joining the Rainiers earlier this month.
Kyle Hunter (3-0) earned the win for the Rainiers after working 2.1 innings of relief in which he allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits with two strikeouts. Mark Lowe and Dean Kiekhefer both notched holds, while Jean Machi worked a shutout ninth to lock down the win and his sixth save of the season.
Left-hander Dillon Overton (1-0, 7.71) gets the start for the Rainiers on Sunday opposite Bees righty Alex Klonowski (0-1, 9.90). First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. PT.
