September 10, 2012
TACOMA, Wash. -- The Tacoma Rainiers announced today the club's preliminary 144-game schedule for the 2013 Pacific Coast League season - a slate featuring 72 contests at Cheney Stadium and a home opener set for Friday, April 12th.

Tacoma opens the season on Thursday, April 4th with an eight-game road trip that starts with four games at the Fresno Grizzlies and wraps up in Sacramento with a four-game series against the defending Pacific Southern Division champion River Cats.

The club's 2013 home schedule gets underway with an eight-game homestand against Salt Lake and Fresno. Tacoma welcomes the Pacific Northern Division-rival Bees for a four-game series starting on Friday, April 12th, with fireworks immediately following the conclusion of the game. The Grizzlies come to town for a four-game series beginning on Tuesday, April 16th.

The 2013 home schedule is highlighted by 10 Friday Night Fireworks dates and 10 Tasty Thursdays - days devoted to $2 beers and dollar deals on concessions throughout the ballpark.

The team's annual July 3rd game will be played against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, and the Rainiers are set to host home dates against American Conference foes the Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds, Omaha Storm Chasers and Iowa Cubs for the first time since the 2011 season.

The Rainiers 2013 campaign marks the 54th at Cheney Stadium and the team's third since the ballpark underwent a major offseason renovation in 2011. The upcoming season will also be Tacoma's 19th since taking over as the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners in 1995.

Starting times and additional in-season promotions for the Rainiers 2013 campaign are expected to be announced later this offseason.
