66ers Blow Out Quakes Saturday

San Bernardino, CA – A six-run third inning sent the 66ers into the lead for good, as they won their second straight game over the Quakes on Saturday night, by a final of 12-5.

Edwin Yon homered twice and drove in four, as the 66ers set themselves up for a potential series-split, after the Quakes won the first three games of the current six-game set, which concludes on Sunday at San Manuel Stadium.

Jose Ramos had three hits and Ismael Alcantara hit an inside-the-park home run, his second of the year, as the Quakes actually outhit the 66ers’ offense, 13-11.

Quakes’ starter Jerming Rosario struggled through three innings, as he failed to get out of the third after recording two outs. Inland hung a six-spot on the board and chased Rosario (0-1), as he suffered his first loss of the year.

Inland Empire right-hander Nick Mondak (1-0) worked five scoreless innings of relief to earn his first win.

The Quakes (62-51) will finish their series with the 66ers (55-55) on Sunday at 5:35pm. Nick Nastrini (0-0) will take on Connor Van Scoyoc (0-1) in the finale.

On Tuesday, September 14th, the Quakes return home to face the Visalia Rawhide for their final series of 2021. Tuesday the 14th will be Temblores Tuesday, presented by the Art Laboe Show Live. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com.
