Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga offense was completely handcuffed on Sunday afternoon, as the Stockton Ports took game two of the three-game set by a final score of 6-0 at LoanMart Field.
Stockton starter Mitchell Jordan was incredible, carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning, losing the bid when Devin Mann opened the frame with a double off the wall in left field.
The Ports got a pair of runs off Quakes' starter Leo Crawford in the second, thanks to a Mickey McDonald two-run triple, then opened things up in the sixth inning, scoring four against reliever Bryan Warzek.
Jordan (7-5) worked around Mann's double in the seventh, completing the inning and finishing his day with seven scoreless innings, while allowing just the one hit with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Eric Mariñez got the final six outs for the Stockton bullpen, keeping the shutout intact and helping to snap Rancho's three-game home winning streak.
Crawford (4-4) pitched well over five innings despite taking the loss, allowing just two runs while scattering seven hits with seven strikeouts.
Rancho (57-36, 16-9) finished the game with just three hits overall, as Stockton earned their sixth shutout of the year.
On Monday, the Quakes and Ports will face off in the rubber game of the three-game set, as Michael Grove (0-3) takes on Xavier Altamirano (4-5) at 7:05pm.
Monday's game will be the final game of the home stand, as the Quakes look to take two of three over the Ports. Purchase tickets online at rcquakes.com or by calling (909) 481-5000. Go Quakes!
