The new agreement is a two-year term, taking the partnership through at least 2020 which would mark ten years between the Quakes and Dodgers.
The Quakes, who are headed to the California League Playoffs for the fourth straight year and for the sixth time in eight seasons as a Dodgers' affiliate, finished with the best record in all of the California League (87-53) and have set franchise records for most wins in a single season (87) and most wins in a single half (52). The Quakes have won one championship (2015) while being a Dodgers' affiliate.
"We're very proud to continue our relationship with the Dodgers," said General Manager - Vice President Grant Riddle. "This has been a win-win for our fans, what with all the former Quakes that have made their way to Dodger Stadium and the countless rehabbers that have come to LoanMart Field while trying to work their way back to Los Angeles. It's a great partnership and we're excited to watch former Quakes help the Dodgers get back to the World Series again this year!"
"We are pleased to announce our continued partnership with our full season affiliates," said Director of Player Development Brandon Gomes. "We not only value our strong relationships and the first class facilities provided, but the opportunity our men have to develop on the field while postively impacting the community around them."
The Dodgers also announced today that they have extended their partnerships with Great Lakes (Low-A Midwest League), Tulsa (Double-A Texas League) and Oklahoma City (Triple-A Pacific Coast League). All four affiliations are headed to their respective playoffs.
Searching for their third Cal League Title in history, the Quakes open the 2018 California League Playoffs on Wednesday in Lancaster, but return to LoanMart Field for game three in the best-of-five on Friday, September 7th. This Friday night, 1,500 fans in attendance will take home a Gavin Lux First Half South Division Champion Bobblehead, thanks to U.S. Bank.
