Quakes Drub Storm Again on Friday

Lake Elsinore, CA – The Quakes slugged three more home runs on Friday night, on their way to another beat-down of the Lake Elsinore Storm, winning 11-6 at The Diamond.

Sauryn Lao (2), Diego Cartaya (6) and Eddys Leonard (5) all went deep and Rancho won for the third time in four tries in this series at Lake Elsinore.

Cartaya had a huge night offensively, as he reached in his first four plate appearances and finished the game with four RBIs, giving his 18 in just 11 games as a Quake.

Hyun-Il Choi tossed four scoreless innings in relief and was credited with the win, as Rancho improved to five games over the .500 mark for the first time this year and extended its lead over the Storm to 4.5 games in the South Division.

Storm starter Noel Vela (1-3) was charged with the loss, as he got knocked around for eight runs on six hits over 4.1 innings.

The Quakes (19-14) will look for four of five on Saturday at 6:35pm, as Kendall Williams (1-0) takes on Lake Elsinore’s Gabe Morales (0-1).

On Tuesday, June 15th, the Quakes will return to LoanMart Field for a six-game series against the Visalia Rawhide. Tickets are available for all Quakes home games at rcquakes.com.
